Tutorial Reiseutensilo

A truly quickly to sew and super-practical gift is this travel utensilo. It can be folded small and fits in every suitcase and in every travel bag. Whether in a hotel, on a visit or for example in the hospital, your things like jewelery, glasses, coins, cosmetics etc are storaged on their own place.

Ein wirklich schnell zu nähendes und superpraktisches Geschenk ist dieses Reiseutensilo. Es kann klein zusammengeklappt werden und passt in jeden Koffer und in jede Reisetasche. Egal ob im Hotel , auf Besuch oder zB  im Krankenhaus, deine Sachen wie Schmuck, Brille, Klimpergeld, Kosmetik usw  haben ihren eigenen Platz.

Material:

For three different sized utensilos are required:

3 solid colored fabrics and a patterned fabric, 
sewing thread, 
fabric clips, an iron.

Für drei verschieden große Utensilos wird benötigt:

                                     3 einfarbige Stoffe und 1 gemusterter Stoff, 
                                     Nähgarn, 
                                     Stoffklammern, ein Bügeleisen.

The patterned fabric is cut:

1x20x20 cm

1x22x22 cm
1x24x24 cm 

Der gemusterte Stoff wird zugeschnitten:

                                              20x20 cm

                                              22x22 cm

                                              24x24 cm jeweils einmal

1. These squares are placed on the right to the right on the solid colored fabrics             and cut out.

     The squares are clip together and sewn together with a seam of approx. 7mm,      please let an opening of approx. 4 cm for turning on the other side

1. Diese Quadrate werden rechts auf rechts auf die einfarbigen Stoffe gelegt und       ausgeschnitten.
        Die Quadrate werden zusammengeheftet und mit einer Naht von ca. 7mm             zusammengenäht, dabei jeweils an einer Seite eine Öffnung von ca. 4cm 
    zum Wenden aussparen.

2. At the corners, cut off a small triangle near 
    the edge.

          2. An den Ecken ein kleines Dreieck nahe an
        der Kante abschneiden.

     3. Turn the square. The corners nicely work out,               which folds quite well with a thicker 

         knitting needle, crochet hook, spoon pin, 

         or similar...

     3.   Das Quadrat wenden. Die Ecken schön                          herausarbeiten, das klappt ganz gut mit einer 
                                                   dickeren Stricknadel, Häkelnadel, Löffel,
                                                   Stift, oder ähnliches.

       4. Iron the seams, adjust the turning opening to                 match the overall seam.
       4.   Die Nähte bügeln, die Wendeöffnung dabei der           Gesamtnaht anpassen.

       5. The turning opening need not be closed 

            further, that happens at a later time

                                                5.    Die Wendeöffnung braucht nicht weiter                                                                 verschlossen zu werden, dass geschieht zu 
                                                     einem späteren Zeitpunkt

      6. Now the Origami folding begin:

          The solid-colored fabric will be inside the finished      utensilo, the patterned is outside.

          The solid fabric is below, the patterned fabric                above.

          Now fold the fabric across the diagonal and 

          iron over the pleat. Fold out, turn 

                                                   90 degrees and fold again to the diagonal, iron. 

                                                   Unfolding this and see a cross along the diagonals.

   6.     Nun beginnt der Origamiteil.

     Der einfarbige Stoff wird bei dem fertigen Utensilo innen sein, der gemusterte      außen.

     Der einfarbige Stoff liegt unten, der gemusterte Stoff oben. Nun den Stoff            über die Diagonale falten und über die Falte bügeln. Auseinander falten, 
     um  90 Grad drehen und wieder zur Diagonalen falten, bügeln.                              Auseinanderfalten man sieht ein Kreuz entlang der Diagonalen.

7. The solid fabric is again below. Now fold the corners towards the center

     And iron.

7.  Der einfarbige Stoff liegt wieder unten. Nun die Ecken zur Mitte hin falten     

    und bügeln.

8. To mark the ground turn the fabric so that the patterned bottom is now below.

    Fold the sides towards the middle and iron.

    When ironing, make sure that the pleats are not flattened again.

8.  Um nun den Boden zu markieren den Stoff umdrehen, so dass der                         gemusterte unten liegt nun die Seiten zur Mitte hin falten und bügeln.Beim           bügeln darauf achten, dass die vorhandenen Falten nicht wieder geplättet               werden.

     

9. Now start folding. For this, the corners must be 

    united and fixed with the fabric clips or pins. I 

    always start with one corner, then the next 

    until I have all 

    four corners. Then I correct corner by corner until 

    I have a straight edge down which hits the bottom.

     9.   Nun mit dem Falten beginnen. Dafür die 
         Ecken zusammenfassen und mit den 
         Stoffklammern oder Stecknadeln fixieren.  
         Ich beginne immer mit einer Ecke, dann 
         die nächste, bis ich alle Ecken erst einmal 
         fest habe. 
         Dann korrigiere ich Ecke für Ecke, bis ich seitlich       eine gerade Kante nach unten habe die genau auf                                                  die Bodenecke trifft.

       10. Now once around the upper edge is sewn, thereby also 
             closes the turning opening. The utensil is now sewn. 
             The threads can now be sewn or cut off.

  10.   Nun wird einmal um die obere Kante genäht, 
              dabei verschließt sich auch die Wendeöffnung. 
              Der Utensilo ist nun fertig genäht. 
              Die Fäden können jetzt vernäht oder 
              abgeschnitten werden.

11. The sides can now be folded. To get a sharp edge               again, iron the whole thing in the folded condition.

     11.   Die Seitenteile können jetzt zusammengeklappt                 werden. Um noch einmal eine scharfe Kanten zu               bekommen, das Ganze im zusammengeklappten                 Zustand bügeln.
